algebraic sudoku

Postby sudokuguy » Fri Feb 09, 2007 1:15 am

can anyone tell me if this has been done before, or if I can claim credit?

I'd be surprised if I was the first to come up with this though - it's a fairly basic idea. I call it 'algebraic sudoku' because instead of given numbers, the 'clues' are algebraic relations between various squares:sudokuguyblog.blogspot.com/search/label/algebraic%20sudoku { link corrected by Moderator }

my inspiation came from the famous Foxtrot cartoon. this was a fun puzzle to make and I'll be sure to do some more of these!

I tried your #4 - excellent.

A good concept for us killer addicts, as you actually have to use the numbers.

I have not come accross this concept before, and I keep a good lookout for unusual puzzles. There have been =<> puzzles but this is very different.

I realise that you do not like killers but you should point this puzzle type out on DJApe's site.

thanks hatman for the positive response - and thanks to Pat for refreshing my link.

unfortunately I don't know DJApe's site but I'm happy for anyone to visit my blog and try out my puzzles. I'm continuing to update and just posted another algebraic today.

don't let my irrational hatred of killer disuade you!
