For the last few days I have had to log in every time despite ticking the box for automatic log in each visit. This used to work before - have I done something wrong or is there a problem on the site?

If your browser isn't storing Cookies, that might be the problem. How to check depends on your browser though.

This is the only site that I am having problems with. All other sites are fine.

Well then I'm afraid I'm stumped.

I have the same problem - even another phpbb board that I use is OK! But I've always had to log in every time to this one despite ticking the automatic box.

I have now tried registering as a different user with a different e-mail address and - guess what - it works. Automatic recognition is now back but only under my new alias. Can anyone sort out why it doesn't work under my usual name?

Wild guess; Have you changed your password or something since the creation of the account? Perhaps the old info is stored, and not the new one? If so, try deleting any cookies your browser may be storing for the site, then log in and re-check the "Remember" checkbox.
