There seems to be something strange with both examples. When not adding the normal blocks of sudoku the jigsaws still have a unique solution. Further examinations follow.

Some JSB (Jigsaw with Blocks) will also solve as JS (Jigsaw) - the two sudokus posted are examples of this.
The layout helps! I've found this is not always true with other more irregular jigsaws!

Third example in a row: solvable as JS or as JSB.
Now I can say that because the pair 5/7 is locked at R12C56, 7 can't be in the rest of the block which is R3C1, so R3C1 must be 8!

But the question stays if all jigsaws generated with this specific layout and unique solution can be solved as a JSB too, on a way which is easier as without the sudoku blocks.

I generated another one as JS, with or without blocks they keep having max rating 1.7.
Perhaps they can be made harder by asking for symmetry like in the example with ER 3.0?

Two more JSB examples.
Can 1to9only explane me how he has added the 9 normal sudoku boxes on the picture posted with his medium level example with the 3.0 rating? (The lines around them)
The first I did completely by hand and found it solves with 2 generalized intersections. When checking with the program it gives 6 of them, but you don't need them all because of the symmetrical form of the solution. The second is more difficult and was generated by the program without any extra symmetry in the solution.

JSBs up till now were displayed grey and white - I recently added color - this is not in the last pre-release. I've not looked at the code for about a week now. The project is in the slow lane, as I think you're the only one downloaded/using the JigsawExplainer. I'll check its status and maybe put out another pre-release! Maybe later today, or tomorrow.
