vidarino answered my question. Since my question was based on a temporary mental block and not particularly instructional, I've deleted it.

My solver identifies them as "Box-constrained 1s in row R1", lacking a better name. I just semi-arbitrarily named them that to make it clean to the user that the 1s in that row were constrained to a specific box, and that the rest of said box could be "cleaned".

I didn't see tso's original question, but what you describe are better known as locked candidates.
