Sudoku Players' Forum (clone)

There are no 8s in this puzzle, hence the 8 in most cells - some are in pairs and in threes, not sure how to do deal with them? what next?

There's no general problem with a sudoku not having one number present in the clues, nor any particular way to attack that type (that I know of). This puzzle specifically, though, is a different matter. There's certainly nothing simple to do, though it can be solved with the extreme methods that make my head hurt.

Thanks for your reply.
Su Doku puzzles with one number not present are not a problem, my comment was only a bit of information. However, I would like to learn how the tuckle these more difficult puzzles and know which method to apply.

Not sure what's the problem, please let me know. I have now solved the puzzle.

I'm hoping that your original transcription was slightly out - either that or my head is.

I see that over at the end of Row 4 you show a 489. That is the only mention of a 9 for that row, so it must be good. Go from there.

I'm new at this, so don't crucify me if I have the logic wrong.
