Hi, the hodoku next hint is a w-wing. What is another technique to solve this puzzle?? Hidden pair? Is it possible in hoduko to show another hint to solve this puzzle?

Hi Gerold,

Try disabling w-wing from hoduko technique set. That would take Hodoku to the technique(s) listed after that to try.

Hoduko like many other solvers uses a technique list which are exhausted systematically before moving to the next step.

Just go to the "all possible steps" tab and click "find all steps". Every possibility for which Hodoku is programmed will be shown.

Or,

Put the puzzle in HSH, Helmut's Sudoku Helper.

It will show a list of "all" the next steps from which you can pick one. (ALL = a list that of moves human solvers would likely use.)

The H wing is less well known outside of this forum but has the advantage of having only 3 Strong links, vs 4 for the more standard XY chain.
