Where do I go from here?

Postby paolothehoo » Thu Oct 20, 2005 4:58 pm

I can't find any x-wing hidden naked trip quad royal flushes (or whatever those things are). I've researched other techniques for solving and I can't figure this one out. What's next? THANKS!

4*6 7*9 513

I'm afraid you missed a simple one. Only one place for the 6 to go in column 8.

I can see a pair in C5 that'll allow some eliminations - then look where the 9's and 5's are in block 1 - it'll allow some eliminations in block 3.

Aaaaah! I HATE it when I do that! I even looked at it over and over. I need more coffee. Thanks.

It's a slightly unusual one, mind. Usually when you make an only-one-place-in-the-column elimination, there's one of the particular number in one of the boxes that intersects the column, usefully cutting out three places in the column at once. But in this case all four of the spaces in the column you eliminate are based on other 6s in their rows.
